My Source of Peace: Finding Anchor in Christ Amidst the Waves

Life, much like the ocean I love, is a beautiful, sometimes unpredictable, journey of waves. As a single mom, a small business owner, and a woman simply trying to navigate each day with grace and purpose, I've learned that peace isn't found in the absence of challenges, but in the presence of an unwavering anchor. For me, that anchor, that constant source of calm and strength, is my faith in Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.

You see the ocean as my muse in Ocean Daydreams – the vibrant hues of our hand-dyed sarongs, the free spirit of our handmade bikinis, the natural essence of our beauty products. But beneath the surface of my creative endeavors and daily hustle as a mom to Marley and Maverick, lies a deeper current that sustains me.

The Foundation of Unconditional Love

My peace begins with a profound truth – the incredible, unconditional love of God. This truth is beautifully captured in a passage from the Bible that has always resonated deeply with my heart:

John 3:16 (ESV): "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

This verse, simple yet profound, speaks volumes about a love that goes beyond anything we can comprehend. It's a love that moved God to sacrifice His Son, Jesus, so that we might have life – a life filled with hope, purpose, and ultimately, eternal peace. For me, believing in Jesus means accepting this immense gift, trusting in His plan, and allowing His presence to guide every aspect of my life.

A Peace That Endures All Storms

As a mom, especially to a very special boy like Maverick (my joy, truly #nothingdownaboutit!), life can be busy and sometimes challenging. There are days filled with laughter and sunshine, and then there are days when the waves feel bigger, the current stronger. In those moments, it's the specific promises of Jesus that bring comfort and strength:

John 14:27 (ESV): "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."

This isn't just a fleeting feeling of calm; it's a deep, abiding peace that comes from a divine source. It's distinct from the world's temporary solutions or fleeting moments of quiet. This is a peace that settles my heart even when circumstances are chaotic.

And Jesus was clear that challenges would come, but so would His triumph:

John 16:33 (ESV): "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

This truth encourages me to face difficulties with courage, knowing that ultimate victory and peace are found in Him.

Finding Rest for My Soul

In moments of weariness or when the burdens feel heavy, there's an incredible invitation from Jesus:

Matthew 11:28 (ESV): "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

This verse is a constant comfort, reminding me that I don't have to carry my burdens alone. I can lay them at His feet and find true rest for my soul, which empowers me to keep going, to keep creating, and to keep loving my family with renewed strength.

The Only True Foundation

Ultimately, my faith isn't just a personal comfort; it's the bedrock of everything. The Bible teaches that there is only one true foundation for life and salvation:

Acts 4:11-12 (ESV): "This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mankind by which we must be saved."

This emphasizes the unique and essential role of Jesus Christ in my life and in the world. He is the ultimate anchor, the unshakable foundation upon which I build my life, my family, and even my business.

An Invitation to Peace

For me, living out my faith means creating Ocean Daydreams with integrity and love, raising my boys to know their worth, and sharing the source of my peace whenever the opportunity arises. It's a journey, not a destination, but one I wouldn't trade for anything.

Perhaps you're searching for that same sense of peace amidst your own life's waves. The beauty of faith is that it's accessible to everyone. Just as the ocean welcomes all who seek its comfort, so too does the love and peace offered through Jesus Christ.

Thank you for allowing me to share a piece of my heart with you. May you find your own source of peace, wherever your journey takes you.
